Biography

He holds a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1997), a Master's degree in Dentistry (2003), a PhD in Dentistry (2011) and a Post-Doctorate in Dentistry (2013) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. With experience in Fixed Prosthetics, Dental Materials and Dentistry, he works mainly in the following topics: physical, mechanical and biological properties of dental materials, diagnosis, occlusal caries, adhesive systems, fibroresin posts, CAD/CAM systems and dental photography. He is an experienced translator, proofreader and contributor to Revista Clinica - International Journal of Brazilian Dentistry, The Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and PeerJ Life Environment. He has translated over 1000 articles into Portuguese, and has over 90 books translated from English into Portuguese, from Portuguese into English, from Portuguese into Spanish and from German into Portuguese. He has done the technical and scientific review of several best-selling books on Dentistry. He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of Revista Clinica - International Journal of Brazilian Dentistry, Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook Digital Dentistry (with three volumes published until 2022), published by Editora NapoleĆ£o/Quintessence and Scientific Director of the Brazilian Society of Digital Dentistry. He taught in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University, as an Assistant Professor (from September 2022 to January 2025). He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee.
